Belgium vs. Algeria
Belgium enter this World Cup after missing two previous torunaments that were held in Germany and Suoth Africa. Meanwhile, Algeria are the only representatives of North Africa in Brazil, and they’re a smart side so a good game is awaiting.

People from all over the world are backing Belgium to win this game at very short odds and despite not being a liker of short odds at big tournaments, I still fancy taking Belgium here. It’s true that Belgium aren’t the most experienced of sides but they’re very talented and hungry for wins at the international level. Moreover, they’re nicely balanced and despite not having much of experience at world cups most of Belgium stars have played huge amounts of games wearing the jerseys of many Europe’s biggest clubs. One may not be an expert of world football but it’s hard to find a person that hasn’t heard of Van Buyten, Alderweireld, Fellaini, Witsel, Vertonghen, Lombaerts, Januzaj, Hazard, Courtois, or Kompany. With many experienced names and a world class keeper between the sticks, this Belgian defence is very hard to breach. The midfield is not so experienced but possess lots of bright individuals that can decide games on their own. The only area that head coach Wilmots doesn’t have many options at is Belgian forwards but if Lukaku shows his best it might be enough for them to do pretty well in sunny Brazil.

Algeria don’t require so much wide analysis. On paper, they aren’t half as good as Belgium are but the fuuny and at the same time the bad thing about football is the paper a team has got on a sheet of paper doesn’t always reflect itself on a football pitch. Bosnian manager Halilhodzic’s guys are a very united and hard working unit that is very hard to beat. Usually their built their offensive on their defence and score their goals only from set pieces or counter-attacks. Feghouli, Bentaleb, and Slimani are three names that carry Algeria’s offence upon their shoulders. Sometimes it’s enough to do well on African soil that is filled with stupid, absent-minded and low-scoring sides but in world cup games this might not be enough, especially playing teams like Belgium. Belgium have got a big advantage over Algeria at every position on the pitch and despite Algeria being no pushovers, you have a genuine feeling that Belgium will get under Algeria’s skin at some stage of the game and even a single goal should be enough for this European side to snatch all three points here.
